Meet Hildegarde Flax-Shaw
Registered Nurse, Reading Enthusiast, Volunteer and Author
Hildegarde Flax-Shaw was born on the island of Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands but has lived most of her life in the United States where she traveled to further her education. She has indulged in her vocation of nursing for the last fifty years and regards it as the “passion” of her life. She says with great conviction that she would not have done anything else with her life!

Sharing A Fly Wing tells the story, through her childhood memories, of her life as a young girl on an undeveloped island. She reminisces about the bonds of family and friends and of her mother’s lifelong lesson to share everything, even if it were as small as a “fly wing.”
