Books are magical!

Books are magical! They are simply words on pages but turning those pages opens the door to someone else’s thoughts and transports the reader to far-flung places where adventure awaits. It may be in the form of a new culinary experience, shopping in sophisticated boutiques, finding an unexpected romance, or these pages may provide comfort in the time of sorrow or sadness – all while sitting curled up on your sofa.

Mason Cooley says it best: “Reading gives us some place to go when we have to stay where we are” – so appropriate for our current times.

I agree with Dr. Seuss who said “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

I love the printed word and have an aversion to discarding any book. Consequently, my library contains books from my high school days and even one from my days in Elementary School. I am profoundly grateful to my parents for filling our home with books of all genres when I was just a little girl because the seed for my love of reading was planted.
